Thiruvarutprakasa Vallalar Jayanti Celebration

202nd Birth Anniversary & Thiruvarutpa Book Release Function in Hosur

Event Overview and Governor's Message

Occasion: The 202nd Birth Anniversary Celebration and Thiruvarutpa Book Release Function of Thiruvarutprakasa Vallalar.

Vallalar, a divine saint in the Sanatan tradition of Bharat, took avatar to protect the Dharma from onslaught of foreign missionaries and save the society by eradicating all social discriminations.

He was a great champion of Bharatiya languages, promoting Tamil and Sanskrit at a time when the British were enforcing English.

The Governor expressed pain that social discriminations, specially against the Dalits, are still rampant, asserting it will end only if vested interests follow the teachings of Vallalar instead of making fortune out of pseudo social justice politics.
